Glenrothes – Conservatories
Glenrothes is one of Scotland’s post-Second World War new towns. Located in central Fife, the town was developed during the 1950s and 1960s. It has excellent recreational facilities, including parkland, various sports venues and two golf courses.
In recent years, Glenrothes has become a focus for electronics manufacturing, earning it the nickname ‘Silicon Glen’, after Silicon Valley in the USA. Markinch lies a few miles east of Glenrothes and combines a historical setting with excellent access to modern amenities and a strong sense of community.
A conservatory is a place to unwind and enjoy. A place for peace and for quiet. What, then, could be worse than a relaxed ‘aaahh’ being spoiled by the constant ‘rat-a-tat’ of raindrops overhead? ‘Absolutely nothing!’ is what the Coyle family will tell you. A change was needed, and we were quietly confident of providing just that. We couldn’t put up with how loud it could get. Now we don’t have to.
The problem they had was that their old conservatory came with a polycarbonate roof – which, when it’s raining, may as well be made of tin. A brand new Smartglass roof proved to be the answer. Not only has it muted the annoying rain, but it also retains heat twice as well as standard double glazing, keeping them cosy warm in the winter. Better still, the anti-glare coating means that the room never overheats, which makes sure they’re nice and cool in the summer too. Talk about getting more than you’d bargained for.
