Hybrid sunroom opens up bright new living space

Perthshire & Dundee

Mrs Reid wanted to be able to enjoy the garden on colder days and to allow more light into the house than with the existing windows.

They had seen examples of conservatories but could not see what they were looking for.  Mrs Reid had quite a specific vision of a living space that would suit their home.  She did not want a glass roof but wanted plenty of light to be let in to the house.  When they saw pictures of the hybrid designs – although slightly different from the vision Mrs Reid had in mind, it was a good, cost effective design, so they decided to go ahead with CR Smith.

They were concerned that having a solid roof might not let in the extra light they were hoping for into the dining room, but having the windows in the roof means that sunlight brightens up the room.  It has given them a lovely place to sit and relax even on a cold day so they can enjoy the garden more.

The property is 40 years old and Mrs Reid is happy that their new sunroom suits the house perfectly.
