Stunning orangerie lets light flood in while climate control regulates temperature of Dunfermline steading all year round

Fife

When it was first converted, CR Smith Lorimer windows and doors in American light oak were fitted to work aesthetically with the traditional stone walls. When the Dalls’ took ownership they added CR Smith double doors from the kitchen into the garden. Delighted with the CR Smith products and at the “way the guys conducted themselves” when fitting the door, the Dalls’ called us when they needed more space.

Not sure of the options available to them, the couple made use of CR Smith’s 3D design tools to see ‘real life’ images of how a sunroom, conservatory or orangerie would look on their home. Having initially thought they would like a sunroom, they ultimately chose an orangerie, for the light that would come in through its glass roof, along with a climate control system to regulate the temperature all year round.

The result is a modern living space that works beautifully with the age and style of the property.

Mrs Dall, said:

“Everyone was professional and friendly. The brickwork outside the double doors is exceptional.

“We had a garden party recently, and the compliments were rolling in. They said how ‘stunning’ it is and how it really enhances the original stonework of the steading.”
