East Kilbride is the largest town in South Lanarkshire and forms part of the Greater Glasgow conurbation. Declared a new town in 1947, its new town design was that areas were split up into residential zones, each with its own local shops, primary schools and community facilities, all accessed safely via paths and underpasses separate from main roads.
The housing zones surround the main shopping centre, all bound by a ring road including a number of roundabouts, for which East Kilbride is synonymous.
The majority of houses in the East Kilbride area have been built as part of its development as a new town and casement windows were by far the most popular option.
So when Mr and Mrs Kelly decided to add to their modern detached villa, we started by ensuring the design looked like an integral part of their home, featuring windows and brick work that matched the main house.
Mr and Mrs Kelly were already big fans of CR Smith. “We move house often and have had many conservatories in the past. This is actually our 3rd conservatory with CR Smith!” And part of the service they love is that CR Smith did everything for them.
From local authority permissions and SmartGlass roof glazing to opening windows throughout, painted walls and varnished sills to a climate control heating and cooling system and electrics.
“We thought about getting quotes from elsewhere but when you know and trust a company and the price is right, it’s easier just to go with it!”
Getting the conservatory was a priority as soon as the couple moved in to the property, so as soon as it was practical they put the wheels in motion. “I absolutely love having a conservatory. It has such a calming effect on me,” Mrs Kelly said.
