Mr & Mrs Scott - Glasgow
When your job involves working with hundreds of home improvement companies, it must become near impossible to pick just one to work on your own home.
Mr Scott is the Head of Sales for the Ideal Home Show in Glasgow, so when it came to replacing the timber sash and case windows in his Bearsden home – he needed to make sure he chose the best company. After all, he had an example to set.
“CR Smith have a great reputation,” said Mr Scott. “I liked the Lorimer product and that we could replace the timber with PVCu without compromising on the style of the windows.”
With a Victorian house, Mr and Mrs Scott were adamant that any changes could not have an impact on the period style of their home. We took care to style the windows to look like the originals, with deep bottom rails to mimic the proportions of the sash and case windows and traditional ironmongery.
We’re thrilled that we were able to preserve the original stained glass windows.
Most important of all was the two beautiful stained glass windows in the hall and in the main bathroom: “It would have been sacrilege to rip them out,” said Mr Scott. “But they were so draughty and rotten it wasn’t an option to keep them as they were.”
The solution? With surgical-like precision, we removed the glass from the originals then built the new sliding sash window around it, completely encapsulating and preserving it. Now the Scotts can enjoy the beauty of the stained glass with the benefits of a brand new Lorimer window.
Well chosen, Mr Scott. Your reputation, like your windows, is intact.Contact Us BACK TO Glasgow
