The elegantly proportioned profile of Lorimer lets natural light flood in and is perfectly framed with furniture quality, timber sills and surrounds, which our decorator will finish in wax or varnish.
Beautiful Shape
The Lorimer range has been designed to replicate the appearance of a traditional timber window, with slim frames and a contoured shape, other than the reversible. It has an alternative, striking chamfered frame externally and a contoured shape internally to match the rest of the Lorimer range. All transoms and mullions are mechanically jointed, except for fixed panes on the reversible window, for a more attractive finish, avoiding an unsightly ‘bird beak’ or ‘reverse butt’ weld.
Double Glazed Units
Filled with argon gas, our units are fitted with one pane of low emissivity glass and a warm edge spacer bar for increased thermal performance.
Co-extruded gasket
Lorimer window glazing gaskets are co-extruded to the frame, which is a permanent bond. This means that they will not shrink or move and will remain perfectly in place around the edge of the glass to add to the slim finish.
Energy efficient & ‘A’ rated as standard
All Lorimer windows achieve recommended Scottish Building Regulations and have an energy rating of ‘A’ as standard.
Strength & Security
For structural strength, all Lorimer windows are fitted with a combination of steel, aluminium and RCM reinforcement.

Lorimer PVCu is lead free, using organic stabilisers and is also 100% virgin PVCu which guarantees our white windows will staywhite.

Casement windows
Our most popular and versatile style.
Its slim shape and the careful positioning of openers gives the casement window an elegant and well-proportioned look. You can choose between clean, modern lines or more traditional features like astragals meaning it will perfectly suit any home.
Reversible window
This window is perfect for first floor rooms and flats or kitchens and bathrooms where taps may prevent the window from opening inwards. It swings out through 180º, which means you can easily open the window without disturbing your curtains, blinds or anything on the sill. It also has clever built-in restrictors and anti-slam hinges.
Tilt & Turn window
This popular, practical window opens two ways, either opening in like a door – which makes it incredibly easy to clean – or tilting inward at the top for ventilation. Its simple lines look great in any home, working especially well upstairs and, of course, in flats.
Sliding Sash window
The modern-day interpretation of the traditional timber sash and case, our sliding sash window looks as beautiful and well-proportioned as the original.
Beneath the elegant looks, function meets design with some ingenious engineering that allows both sashes to be tilted inwards for cleaning.

Colours
In addition to our white finish, Lorimer windows and doors can also be foiled in rosewood, anthracite grey and American light oak woodgrains.
The window or door frames can have a matching woodgrain finish on the inside* or, if you want to make the most of the light in your room, you can choose white instead.
The contoured shape of our Lorimer window, combined with the woodgrain foil, give it colour and texture, and also means that our woodgrain finishes look and feel like real wood.

We employ all our own teams of skilled joiners, builders, painters and plasterers – many of whom have been with us for 20 years or more – and train them to the Lorimer Fit Standard™ to guarantee the professionalism of installation at every property.
We know it’s your home you’re inviting us into. So from the moment we arrive in the CR Smith blue and white van to when we leave, we treat you and your home with respect and will keep any disruption, noise and mess to an absolute minimum.
Many of the benefits of new Lorimer windows cannot be easily seen when the job is complete, such as our unique fitting detail from inside and behind the brick check and distinctive ‘perfect finish’ standards.
Our project managers, however, complete a rigorous 51-point checklist to confirm that the installation has been carried out to these exacting standards and more. At CR Smith we know all the ways in which other people will cut corners, but we will never take short cuts.
Professional decoration
With the Lorimer range, we will do everything for you, including the decoration of your new windows and doors. Each interior sill and surround is hand finished in your choice of wax, varnish or paint by our professional decorators, meaning you can enjoy your new home improvements from the moment we leave.

We have been in business continually for over 50 years and are now in our fifth generation of ten-year guarantee. We are always here for our customers, not simply during the installation but for the months and years thereafter. Additionally, CR Smith offers an emergency call out service which operates 24-hours, 365 days per year so we are available when you need us most. This service covers both problems of a serious nature such as fire hazards, flooding, security risks and the like, as well as more minor (but inconvenient) problems such as customers who have been locked out.
Finally our whole guarantee package is fully transferable should you decide to move house in the future and as such, will be a great benefit in helping to sell your home.
Product & installation guarantee
The Lorimer guarantee covers parts, products and workmanship for a full ten years. We will never hesitate to honour our obligations under its terms and our dedicated customer service team will handle your queries quickly and efficiently.
Security guarantee
We are so confident in the security provided by the Lorimer range that for ten years we will replace any door or window fitted to a brickwork aperture, completely free of charge, should it fail and an unwanted intruder gains entry to your home through the Lorimer frame (excluding glass breakage).
Building regulations certificate
CR Smith is proud to guarantee that all installations of Lorimer windows and doors meet, as a minimum, the exacting standards of Building Regulations (Scotland) at the time of your installation.
