“We wanted to change the front and back door originally because of the security issues, but after seeing the Anthracite Grey sample, I was desperate to change all the windows too.”

• Two bi-directional parrot hooks
• Two deadbolts
• A centre hook

Each Lorimer door is fitted with a high-security 3-star cylinder and advanced locking technology, helping the family feel far more secure in their home. How were the new windows redesigned to improve practicality?

Alongside the security upgrade, the family also wanted to improve how the upstairs windows functioned day to day. 

The original openings and handle positions made some windows difficult to operate, particularly for Tracey’s mum. 

Tracey stated:

“My mum struggles to reach the handles which isn’t ideal at all.”

Working closely with the CR Smith product expert, the upstairs window styles were redesigned using Lorimer casement windows with side-opening sashes, making them easier to access, operate and clean safely from inside the home. 

This thoughtful redesign has significantly improved practicality while also maintaining a clean, balanced appearance throughout the property.

To make the installation process even easier, the family chose to stay with relatives nearby while the work was carried out. The keys were handed to the CR Smith installation team, allowing the project to be completed efficiently with minimal disruption.

The team typically installs four or five windows per day and begins on the upper floors before working down through the property. This phased approach helps minimise disruption, allowing families to continue using much of their home while the installation is underway.

Tracey commented:

“The new windows and doors were all perfect – no mess left behind. We didn’t need to move out as it was a stress-free process but it made it just that little bit easier for us.”
