
Aberdeen home transformed with Lorimer reversible windows

New Windows and Doors in Aberdeen
The Cowan family have lived in their home overlooking the River Dee in Aberdeen for more than 10 years. Having spent the last few years modernising their home, Mr and Mrs Cowan decided it was time to finalise the project with new windows and doors.
With the home’s original windows being reversible, Mr & Mrs Cowan were keen to keep the same style to maintain the appearance of their house, but upgrade to low maintenance uPVC. They arranged a home visit with one of our design experts who covered everything that the process would entail. The Cowans opted for the Lorimer reversible window with an anthracite grey exterior finish and white interior, with complementary internal timber sills and surrounds. They also chose some additional new features, the main one being a large fixed pane window which showcases their striking view of the River Dee.
Not only did the new, large window feature allow for their beautiful view to be enhanced and admired, but it also increased the natural light coming into the living room, making the space feel instantly bigger and brighter. The view of the river is one of the main features they love most about their property and having the view enhanced has allowed them to fall even more in love with their beautiful family home. Thanks to the slimline frames of the Lorimer reversible window, their view onto the River Dee has been expanded further, as well as allowing more light to flood the living room.
The Cowans were slightly apprehensive about the removal of their old windows. However, they knew of our reputation and they put their faith in our team. The Cowans wanted to work with a company that could cover all elements of the journey and knew that CR Smith was the one for them. Satisfied with the process from start to finish Mr Cowan described it as ‘a professional and reliable operation’ and an experience they found a much easier process than they had originally expected.
Now that their installation is complete and the finishing touches are in place, the Cowans thoroughly enjoy their new windows and doors, and feel that their home has been modernised both functionally and aesthetically.

‘So my experience with CR Smith from start to finish, I’d say a professional, reliable operation. I think what you’re promised, is what’s delivered.
We’ve been thinking about upgrading the house, we loved the house we were in, and wanted to get the new windows and door in to modernise the place.
And we were just looking for a company we could trust, we wanted someone that we could get in to do the whole job in one go, and we’d heard of CR Smith’s reputation.
We wanted to keep the same look that the house had but modernise to uPVC finishes. So we’ve managed to keep the look the same with a few extra features such as the big window behind us, to give us the view out the back.
And then from there, we were straight away put in touch with the local sales agent who spent a lot of time with us, had three visits, and we talked through exactly what we wanted because it was quite a big job.
I was pleasantly surprised. My expectation was that the old jokes about double-glazing salesmen would be true, but in all honesty, the price I was quoted was fair.
It was a much more pleasant experience than expected.
Yeah, I mean it’s a busy week. There’s a lot of activity in your house. However, everything was very professionally managed and all the materials arrived on time and all the work was done within a week.
I promised, some of the sales process right through to the installation, that was, um, you know, a very easy process to follow.’
