Edinburgh City Council (CEC), managing over 20,000 homes across the capital, appointed CR Smith to deliver a major window replacement programme across its low-rise housing stock. With approximately 600 properties scheduled for upgrades in 2025, the project spans key areas including Moredun, Gilmerton, Inch, Saughton, Stenhouse, and Murrayhouse.

CR Smith was selected for its ability to deliver high-quality installations with minimal disruption. The council has reported that this contract has resulted in the least number of complaints compared to similar initiatives, highlighting the effectiveness of CR Smith’s tenant-focused approach.

“The CR Smith installation team were so friendly and helpful during the sign off. I suffer with mental health issues and find things like this extremely difficult, but I was so comfortable with the team and my home now feels warmer and looks so much better”.

-Tenant, City of Edinburgh Council

The installations feature modern, energy-efficient windows designed to improve thermal performance and reduce maintenance. CR Smith’s teams have worked closely with residents to ensure smooth scheduling and clear communication throughout the process.
