CR Smith sponsors the Dunfermline Press Toy Appeal for the fourth year.

06/11/25

We are proud to sponsor the Dunfermline Press Christmas Toy Appeal again this year – marking our fourth consecutive year of support.

The Toy Appeal has become a much-loved initiative within the community, helping ensure that children across West Fife wake up to a gift on Christmas morning. For families facing financial pressures, the festive season can be especially challenging, and the Appeal continues to play a vital role in spreading joy and offering support where it’s needed most.

Alongside our sponsorship, this year FIX is donating batteries and wrapping paper – two small but essential items that make a big difference. Batteries mean toys can be enjoyed straight away, while wrapping paper ensures every gift is presented with the excitement and magic children look forward to at Christmas.

Kevin Eadie, Chief Executive of CR Smith said: “We think it’s really important to support families in our local community over the festive season. Our staff and their families have shown great generosity in previous years, donating a number of wonderful gifts, and we are all proud to help spread some Christmas cheer to families across Fife again this year.

After hearing feedback from the volunteers, this year we have decided to donate wrapping paper as well as batteries. Parents prefer to wrap the presents themselves, helping add to the festive spirit, but often struggle to acquire it. The additional donation of wrapping paper as well as batteries is a small but impactful gesture, helping families across the region create a special Christmas experience.”

Anyone who would like to get involved in this year’s Christmas Toy Appeal can do so by dropping gifts off at the Dunfermline Press Head office, located at Forsyth House, Pitreavie Drive, Pitreavie Industrial Estate. Donations can be made on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 9am and 5pm. To ensure the gifts get sent to the Salvation Army with enough time, the donation deadline is Friday 5th December at 12 noon.

This year, toys donated through the Appeal will be supplied to the Samaritans and Gingerbread charities, who will carefully distribute them to families referred to them in December. With the help of their dedicated volunteers, hundreds of gifts will be packed and delivered to bring joy to children across the region.
