Tiled sunrooms.
Another alternative to our traditional conservatories and orangeries is the tiled sunroom. Integrating seamlessly with your house, we can build your sunroom with or without interconnecting doors – so it can extend an existing living space, or form a brand new room.

Make the most of your view.
With continuous panoramic windows rather than walls, a Lorimer tiled sunroom gives you masses of natural light as well as the feeling you get with a fully-tiled or slated roof. It also allows you to incorporate contemporary design features such as speakers and down-lighters.

Roofs with style.
A Lorimer tiled sunroom can feature either a flat or vaulted ceiling. Choose either a gable end or Edwardian roof style to perfectly complement and add character to your home, transforming its outer appearance and internal living space.
See your new Tiled Sunroom in 3D.
See and explore your new tiled sunroom before we build it. We’ll create a fully immersive, 3D digital model, using the photographs we take when we visit to survey your home. Choose finishes and details and we’ll add them to the model.

Heating.
To fully integrate your tiled sunroom with the rest of your home, and enjoy a temperate environment throughout, we can connect new radiators to your existing central heating system or fit electric heaters for heat on demand.

Roof.
The roof on each Lorimer tiled sunroom is finished externally to match your house, as closely as possible, in either slate or tile. Each extension is designed to complement the style and period of your home, so aesthetically it looks like it has always been there. Available with a Gable Front or Edwardian roof design, you can choose the style to best suit your home and ultimately the end use of the room.

Flooring.
Our engineered hardwood floors have a touch of luxury to any space. Made from 18mm thick cross-ply timber with a beautiful sold hardwood skin, our engineered floors can have a lacquered or oiled finish to suit your room.

Internal finish.
Your tiled sunroom will be finished with beautiful veneered sills and solid skirting boards in your choice of Royal Oak, Natural Ash, American Cherry or Far Eastern hardwood. All timber will be hand-finished in wax or varnish. We can alternatively offer an engineered wood, finished in brilliant white if this would suit your home better. We’ll paint the walls too.
FAQs
My conservatory is too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. Can anything be done about this?
Yes. We have several solutions to this problem, from installing a very efficient climate control system to installing an insulated roofing system. One of our assessors will be able to advise the best solution for your property.
Is a Building Warrant required in Scotland when converting a conservatory to have a solid roof?
Yes. Converting a glass or polycarbonate conservatory roof to a solid roof is deemed as the creation of an extension, so a building warrant is always required.
How long does a roof conversion take?
That depends on the size of the conservatory and what shape of roof you have. Typically all roof conversions are completed within the week. However follow on trades such as ames taping, plastering, decoration and electrics will be required to complete the project.
Is my conservatory suitable for a solid roof conversion?
Some conservatories may not be able to withstand the weight of a new solid roof. Our technical assessors have been trained to identify whether your conservatory is suitable and can advise you during their visit. A Structural Engineering Report is always required as part of the building warrant process, giving you piece of mind that the new structure will be there to last
There is a build-up of moss and algae on my conservatory, can you help me remove it?
A build-up of moss and algae is very common, yet it can cause problems with leaks and draughts. Our premium cleaning service ensures your conservatory will sparkle once again.
