“We knew that the cottage had the potential to be everything we wanted in a family home,” said Mrs Hardie. “It needed a new kitchen and a bit of cosmetic work… but most of all it was in desperate need of new windows.”

The cottage still had its 100 year old original timber windows and to say they were rotting would be an understatement.

“The house was freezing,” Mrs Hardie reminisced. “We have two small children so we knew we had to call CR Smith and get it sorted.”

Now the Hardies’ pretty cottage is toasty warm with beautiful Lorimer casement windows, complete with astragals to make sure it retains its period charm. We also rebuilt the existing porch with Lorimer windows and a Lorimer single door.
