Lorimer Orangerie, Inveresk, East Lothian
Situated in East Lothian and to the south of Musselburgh, Inveresk has been a designated conservation area for almost 50 years and sits above the north bank of a loop of the River Esk. Originally a haven of large mansion houses, which are situated in the western section of Inveresk village, these beautiful houses are typified by high stone walls and screened by trees.
However in the last 30 years there has been a rapid expansion of new build developments, mostly well-appointed homes to complement the impressive houses of the conservation area, but each with their own new and modern charm.
So when Mr and Mrs Logan decided to expand with a new living space they knew it had to be special to not only pass planning permission, but to actually add to the kerb appeal of their home. As it turned out, inspiration wasn’t very far away because the couple’s neighbours, Mr and Mrs Solley, had also come to us looking for an extension to their home.
Having seen CR Smith the end result of their neighbour’s conservatory, Mr and Mrs Logan got in touch. Using our free 3D design service to see whether an orangerie design would work for their home, they were more than encouraged by the results.
Using our Lorimer orangerie as a starting point, they were able to tailor the design to suit them. With French doors on either side, brass details throughout and flooring to complement the rest of their décor – the Logans now have the extra space they’ve always wanted. And they couldn’t be more pleased.
“CR Smith took the stress out of the whole process. And with their experienced team taking care of all the planning regulations we’ve been able to enjoy the whole process. The end result is exactly what we were after,” said Mrs Logan.
