Elrick – Lorimer Orangeries
Elrick is a small village just over 7 and a half miles from Aberdeen and only 3 miles from the Loch of Skene. Being only 7 miles from Aberdeen it makes for a convenient commuter village as it is only a short journey to and from the city depending on where you want to be. Made up of both older and newer houses built on cosy streets and cul-de-sacs and surrounded by green fields; Elrick is just one of the many pleasant villages and towns scattered around the Aberdeenshire area.
When we fitted new Lorimer windows and doors for Mr & Mrs O’Sullivan for their Victorian home in Elrick, they were so pleased with the level of customer service received, they asked us to return a year later to design their extension.
They wanted the design to be as sympathetic as possible to the existing features of their Victorian home. This was a great challenge for our design team to take on board. The outcome is a beautiful feature wall showcasing the property’s original stonework. The exterior of the Orangerie has also been finished in matching stone, blending the old and the new seamlessly.
With a link to the kitchen and to the living room, the Orangerie allows the natural light to flood through all three spaces and has created the perfect room for their family time together. Mrs O’Sullivan said “We have doubled the size of the kitchen and living area, giving us so much more room for our family to enjoy – and its ideal for parties!”
