Lorimer Sunlounge Conservatory, Aberlady, East Lothian

Edinburgh, the Lothians & Borders

“Our uncle insisted on CR Smith, and we’re so glad he did. The new conservatory has totally transformed his life. He is in it every day and absolutely loves it – he never wants to leave,” said Mr Steel.

More than a stunning conservatory, the Steels have given their uncle a new lease of life; and they couldn’t be happier.

Aberlady

Situated on the bay from which takes its name, Aberlady is one of East Lothian’s prettiest villages, enjoying spectacular vistas across the coast’s saltmarsh to the high sand dunes beyond.

Aberlady was a mecca for tourists during the Edwardian era, when families would move there for entire summer seasons and this style of property is still prevalent today, where traditional sash and case windows were the style of choice. Its appealing historic core has changed relatively little over the years and the centre is a conservation area.

However, expansion around the conservation village in recent years means that many new houses are also now a feature.

Our Lorimer range of windows, doors and living spaces means that we can design the right style of home improvement for either traditional or contemporary properties, from sliding sash windows to bespoke tiled sunrooms.
