There are a few things that you can expect with a visit to your local pub. Darts and peanuts – sure, but a chilling breeze and leaky windows? No thanks. When the customers of The Crown pub in Newmills came to expect it every time they paid a visit to the local the Landlords, Mr and Mrs Culbertson, knew they had to do something about it.

Looking for the best and keen to support a fellow local business, the couple got in touch with CR Smith straight away. The pub windows had lovely original red surround, a distinguishing mark of the pub, and something that the Culbertsons were very keen to keep. As you can see, the surrounds have been kept and better yet, new Lorimer windows have been fitted – and boy have they made a world of difference.

Now that the pub is cosy, it’s a much more pleasant place to work.

“It’s been fantastic, the difference in the warmth of the bar has been unbelievable – the place is now cosy and warm,” said Mrs Culbertson.

A customer even continued the sentiment: “I’ve been coming here for a few years now, and it’s definitely a much more comfy place to be – the Culbertsons will be seeing a lot more of me.”
