The appointment.

Our initial consultation can be done either via a virtual appointment or a home design visit.

There are a number of factors to consider when replacing windows and doors, including the style of window, its colour and interior finishes as well as making sure they comply with Scottish building regulations, to keep you and your family safe and secure.

Choosing the right options.

Our design consultant will talk through the options available and advise on the best designs for your home. We want to make sure that your new Lorimer home improvements are in keeping with the appearance and architecture of your property.

We’ll then measure each window and detail the specification. With a virtual appointment we’ll ask you to help out by taking a few key sizes in advance of our meeting.

Finally, we’ll look at some of the great ways you can save on your proposed renovations as well as discuss our range of payment options.

What happens next?

Should you decide to proceed with new Lorimer windows and doors, our measurement surveyor will visit to take detailed measurements for the manufacture of your proposed home improvements. They’ll also talk you through the full specification and answer any queries.

If your installation requires local authority permissions, we’ll apply for these on your behalf at this stage. We won’t arrange installation dates or manufacture anything until the consents have been granted.

For all other contracts, once the survey has been completed our planning team will call to arrange installation dates.

All Lorimer windows and doors are precision engineered, the majority of which are made at our state-of-the-art manufacturing plant. For certain specialist products, we work with hand-picked suppliers so we provide only the best home improvements for you.

The installation.

Only our fully qualified joiners will fit your new windows and doors, to our strict LorimerFit™ standards.

Generally the installation will start upstairs so that bedrooms and bathrooms can be completed during the first day. The length of time it will take to install your new home improvements is determined by the number of products there are to fit. On average our joiners can install four windows per day, but this can change depending on the size and location of each window/door as well as the choice of interior timber finishes.
