Kitemark scheme for Window Energy Rating
Based on the updated building regulations (Scotland) which came into force on
1st October 2010, this standard stipulates that all replacement windows must
have:
A Window Energy Rating (WER) of at least band C or
A declared U value of 1.6 W/m²K
To comply with the installation requirements for replacement windows after October, CR Smith had windows tested by BSI and was the first company in the UK to be approved for their Kitemark scheme for Window Energy Rating. This provides a quality assured process and supporting audit trail from simulation of the WER through to installation and is therefore accepted by Building Control Bodies.
We can manufacture our different styles of windows to various window energy ratings to suit your requirements. This includes ten different ‘A’ rated windows, five ‘B’ rated windows and eight ‘C’ rated windows.
CR Smith is also a member of the Energy Saving Trust.
