The people of Stirling are beginning to enjoy the benefits of solar panels and ‘green’ electricity. The local council has just completed the first stage of a project which will see a variety of council owned buildings including schools, offices, houses and a community centre and library fitted with solar panels.
Marking the successful installation of the first 131 panels in 16 council flats, Councillor Alasdair MacPherson said: By introducing renewable technologies in council homes we can help tackle fuel poverty by reducing energy costs while contributing to national targets for renewable energy generation and carbon reduction.”
