  • The Original CR Smith was first registered circa 1917. There was a shop in Alloa selling paints and picture framing as well as a Glazing Workshop in Dunfermline. The owner was Charles Robertson Smith. 
  • The company was bought from Mr Smith's grandson, Bert, by Gerard Eadie in 1977.
  • CR Smith has been privately owned by Gerard Eadie since 1977 and has been in continuous business ever since.
  • CR Smith employs highly skilled people throughout Scotland who sell, manufacture, fit and service windows, doors, conservatories and roofline products.
  • CR Smith is in the thrid decade of servicing its guarantee.
  • CR Smith manufactures its own products at its Production Plant in Cowdenbeath.

  • CR Smith has invested more in window development than any other company in Scotland.
  • CR Smith was the first company in Scotland to advertsie replacement windows on TV (in 1981)
  • CR Smith was the first company in Scotland to sponsor a Premier Dividion Football Club (both Rangers and Celtic at the same time in 1984)
  • Gerard Eadie was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Napier University in Edinburgh in 2000
  • Gerard Eadie is Vice Chairman of the Prince's Trust in Scotland and has raised over £1m to date through personal funding effort.
