The Lorimer Range is totally unique and is exclusive to CR Smith; Lorimer uPVC conservatories naturally match the Lorimer Range of Windows and Doors.
Viewed from the outside, a Lorimer conservatory has the classic shape and styling of a timber conservatory, but requires far less maintenace. The secret lies in the contoured detail, which provides a slim shape that’s as strong as it is beautiful and lets in as much light as possible.
Inside, we’ve also paid special attention to how your conservatory looks, so we’ve created a slim, contoured finish to the frame. At the same time, strict performance testing against wind and water penetration ensures you’ll notice a dramatic difference to the comfort of your home.
A Lorimer Conservatory really is the complete uPVC conservatory package - from wall to wall, roofing to flooring, venting to heating. And, as CR Smith can design, plan and build your conservatory, all the work is done for you. So all you have to do is move in - it couldn't be more simple. Furthermore, our experts have selected a whole range of Lorimer Plus optional extras for you to choose from so you can create your own, ultimate conservatory.
And with CR Smith Homemaker Plus, for just a little extra you can get a lot more conservatory. Work out what you would like to pay each month and we’ll design the conservatory to match.
Ventilation is vital in a conservatory, even in Scotland. Every Lorimer conservatory is different, designed specifically for you. However, as a starting point we’d suggest top opening windows all the way round and a set of double doors to allow a free flow of air on the hottest days. And they make your conservatory look great too.
EXPERT’S TIP - Strategically placed top opening bottom panes can provide extra ventilation. Especially when you combine them with a roof vent. Together they make keeping your conservatory cool a real breeze.
Polycarbonate helps keep the heat in and the cold out, and comes in a wide range of colours. An Opal or Bronze tint stops the neighbours peeking in from upstairs and could mean you don’t need blinds.
EXPERT’S TIP - We recommend a ‘Smartglass’ roof. It’s self-cleaning on the outside and the special coating on the inside retains heat, reduces glare and blocks out 90% of UV light. In a neutral or blue finish, it can look like a summer’s day every day.
All our consrvatory double glazed windows are fitted with two panes of toughened glass as standard for strength and safety. And to increase energy efficiency, one of the panes has a special low emissivity coating and the cavity is filled with Argon gas.
EXPERT’S TIP - Why not tailor your windows with stained, sandblasted or bevelled glass? We can help you replicate a window or design a brand new one to suit your home. Or for a more traditional property, why not choose astragals fitted to the inside and outside of your windows to create that period look?
We offer a huge selection of tiled and timber floors. You can either choose a finish to match the rest of your home, or something practical if your conservatory doors will be used as your back door. Both of these options are also hard-wearing and easy to clean.
EXPERT’S TIP - Our engineered hardwood floors are the last word in style. Imagine a beautiful slab of solid timber with a hand distressed, lacquered or oiled finish. The perfect touch of class to finish off your conservatory.
We can connect new radiators to your existing central heating system or fit electric heaters for heat on demand. And as both walls and floor are well insulated, you'll be comfortable inside whatever the temperature is outside.
EXPERT’S TIP - Underfloor heating warms you from your toes up. So your conservatory can be at a constant comfortable temperature whatever the time of year. It’s clean, discreet and controllable, which means it is also cost efficient.
Beautifully finished Oak-veneered sills and solid skirting boards create a feature on the internal walls. Or choose another option to match the timbers in your home. The sills and skirting boards can be hand finished in wax or varnish, and we can paint the walls too.
EXPERT’S TIP - For that traditional feel we can fit Wainscot timber panelling to internal dwarf walls and Chevron panelling to the back wall.
Sockets, wall lights, maybe a colonial style fan? You tell us what you want and we’ll get it fitted while we’re building the conservatory. All the wires are hidden and we organise all the work for you.
EXPERT’S TIP - Fit a pendant light along the roof bar of your conservatory and hang it over a dining table to create a feature. Another favourite is installing sockets in the floor rather than the walls for a seamless look.
