It's totally in-keeping with the rest of the house.
Now that the conservatory has been built, the house feels complete.
With all the history and character, they bring, it's easy to see why Grade A listed buildings are the dream homes of so many Scots. But along with all the enjoyment of living in these beautiful buildings comes an element of responsibility (not to mention red tape!).
Mr King was all too aware of the challenges he'd face in replacing the existing run-down conservatory on his listed home, so he approached CR Smith for help.
CR Smith have an excellent track record in obtaining planning permission for listed buildings, because we go over and above to create individual designs that complement each property. For Mr King's home, this meant adding lead detailing to the windows to match the main part of the house and introducing a dramatic entrance from an existing window to preserve the original structure of the property. Meanwhile, a Smartglass roof added modern practicality in spades.
The complex planning process was handled by CR Smith at every stage, giving Mr King peace of mind knowing that everything was taken care of so he didn't need to worry about a thing.
If you thought living in a listed-building meant you couldn't have everything on your conservatory wish-list, think again!
Thanks to CR Smith it feels like we're really sitting in the garden, even when it's raining. This is the second house we have used CR Smith and I would not even think about using anyone else – they take care of everything from start to finish and their service is first class. I would certainly recommend them to anybody!
It’s ideal for maximising internal floor space and is the perfect complement to traditional properties.
It is a versatile design and suits most properties, whether they are small or large, single or multi-storey.
The pitch of this conservatory can also be aligned with your home’s gable and customised to become an airy and sophisticated living space.
If your home is more traditional, the Victorian design would be the most ideal fit, with its multifaceted front contributing to its magnificent curve.
If it’s versatility you seek, a Sunlounge, otherwise known as a lean-to or a garden room, is the perfect option for you.
If you’re looking for something a little more unique and have a vision of what your new conservatory would ideally look like, the opportunity exists to build it to your own specifications and make your dream a tangible reality.
